Strike King King Shad Swim Bait Review

I thought I’d break from the tradition of posting about what I’ve been doing and do a little review of a hard plastic swim bait I’ve been throwing lately. The Strike King King Shad swim bait in the sexy shad color is the hard plastic swim bait I throw most. A partner in my fishing club recommended I give it a try. Apparently Kevin Van Damn says he always has a
Strike King King Shad
tied on at all times (ofcourse he is a Strike King sponsored athlete). It’s designed with the perfect combination of flash and wiggle. The Strike King King Shad swim bait is a 5”, flat-sided King Shad bait featuring a single-jointed body which works to create an irresistible, life like action that grabs and holds the attention of monster fish. The Strike King King Shad swim bait comes outfitted with premium hooks, however I’ve found that switching these hooks out with
Mustad Triple Grip Short Shank Hooks
provides a better hook up and catch ratio.

I do wish they made the Strike King King Shad swim bait in different weights. Having this bait that would run at deeper depths would be a good benefit. Currently the Strike King King Shad swim bait only swims around 3 or 4 feet deep. Living in Southern California, we have a wide selection of swim baits, and when you need one that runs deep the Strike King King Shad swim bait is not the choice. However for a shallow or wake swim bait the Strike King King Shad swim bait performs great.

The King Shad by Strike King does have a wiggle that can entice even the stingiest of lurkers. I just wish they made a deep diving Strike King King Shad swim bait, so you could compare it against all types of other swim baits.
